PR Release ...

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Winchester, IN (June 2, 2009) – The Lucas Oil 200 is rapidly approaching as it is the only true Northern stop on the USARacing Pro Cup Series circuit. The event will be held at Winchester Speedway in Winchester, IN on Saturday, June 6 at 7pm.

Local favorite and Muncie, Indiana’s own, Jim Crabtree Jr., will compete in the event for veteran car owner Darrin Odle. Crabtree will be driving the No. 4s Speed Co. Ford. Although Crabtree has never run the Pro Cup Series full-time, he is familiar with the series and the track.

"I ran some races for the Pro Cup series in 05, 06, and 07, and I’ve been racing in Winchester since 1990," commented the Indiana native. "I'm looking forward to the race]. I'm ready. It's a nice track, its fast, and you gotta stay on your toes."

Top Rookie, Lucas Ransone, will be heading to Winchester for the very first time in his racing career this weekend. The young Pro Cup hotshot currently sits 9th in the points standings after he finished second following a four-wide battle to the checkered flag at Langley Speedway two weeks ago. Ransone has some mixed feelings about this weekends’ race:

"I’ve heard some crazy things about [Winchester Speedway]," commented Ransone. "I don’t expect to come out here and win, I’d like to ride around and not tear my stuff up. I’ll be taking lots of notes on Friday [open test day], you better believe it."

Two-time Pro Cup Series Champion and HAMPTON VIRGINIA 250 presented by Racing Electronics Langley Speedway winner, Clay Rogers, is a fan of the historical high banked track.

"It’s got a lot of history behind it. Guys like Jeff Gordon and Ryan Newman getting to sign the wall there inside the merchandise store underneath the grandstands. All kinds of people’s names, famous people’s names, are up on that wall," explained Rogers. "Everybody involved in stock car racing will tell you, it’s a driver’s track and it really gets your attention. You drive right up by the wall, its fast. It demands a lot of respect and that’s why it’s so much fun. You’re on the edge of out of control, not to quote Days of Thunder, but it’s a lot of fun."

General Admission tickets will be on sale at the gate for $20; students 9 to 18 are $10, children 8 and under are free. More information on the USARacing Pro Cup Series is available at www.usarprocup.com. More information on the Saturday, June 6th event at Winchester Speedway is available at www.winchesterspeedway.com.

Good clean race.
Dissapointed in the small field, and could have been a better fan turnout. I guess Eldora stole them away!

Very impressed with JP Morgan, with a second place finish. No one was going to catch Rogers, the best car won, that's for sure.

Why isn't USAR coming back in 2010?
